Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a white and red background, the red portion in the shape of a wedge or chevron, the point up, displaying a palm tree Proper, surmounted in the leaves a silver star, in base and between the trunk of the palm tree two silver swords slanted and pointing towards the middle; attached to the sides and below the device a blue scroll inscribed below "RELENTLESS SUPPORT" in silver.

Symbolism
The wedge/chevron symbolizes support.  The palm tree represents resurrection, illustrating the Gulf coast region and the location of the 211th Support Group and its subordinate units.  The palm tree is one of the few objects that can stand up to a hurricane; combined with the wedge/chevron indicates the motto "RELENTLESS SUPPORT."  The star suggests the command and control structure of the Group.  The slanted swords allude to the soldiers that the unit trains and support.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 20 December 2007.
